Mel Gibson was born on January 3, 1956 in Peekskill, New York to Hutton Gibson and Anne Patricia. His father, who was a successful businessman and entrepreneur received $145,000 after winning a lawsuit due to a work related injury. This lead to the family of 8 to relocate to Sydney, Austrailia where the young Mel Gibson spent most of his youth.
