The 88-year-old actor is a dedicated family man and became a grandfather to twins Miles and Allegra and grandson Taylor. His grandchildren have become his priority and inspired him to lengthen his lifespan as much as possible.
The knighted actor told Candis, "I've decided to live a bit longer, I've cut down on the drink and got a new outlook on life. I thought I wasn't going to have grandchildren, and suddenly I have three!"
"They're my fountain of youth and have given me a new lease of life without any of the worries or troubles. I'm completely besotted and so is my wife." The critically-acclaimed actor explained, "I've had some high points in my life, I've won two Academy Awards and been given a knighthood, and I used to think that you couldn't get better than that but then I got my grandchildren, which is better than anything."
The actor used to be a heavy drinker and even used to have "one bottle of vodka a day" in his younger years and his wife Shakira "calmed" his habits a bit after they married in 1973.
Caine told Radio Times, "Without her I would have been dead long ago. I would have probably drunk myself to death."
Michael has an adult daughter with his ex-wife Patricia Haines named Dominique and he has another daughter Natasha with his wife Shakira Caine. And now he is a grandfather of three! He's achieved every dream an actor possibly could in his 60-year career in Hollywood but now he wants as much time as possible with his grandchildren.
