'Mike & Molly': This Is Billy Gardell's Wife Patty!

Billy Gardell is internationally known for his role as "Mike Biggs" in CBS' series 'Mike & Molly'.The show also featured actress Melissa McCarthy as "Molly", the wife of "Billy", appearing together as the famous Chicago couple from 2010 to 2016.

Following the end of 'Mike & Molly', Billy Gardell joined the cast of other successful shows, including 'Sullivan & Son', 'New Girl' and 'Young Sheldon'.Since 2019 he's been playing "Bob" in Chuck Lorre's sitcom 'Bob Hearts Abishola'.

The actor has been married to Patty Gardell since the year 2001. Their wedding ceremony was held in Los Angeles, California.

But who is she? Before marrying the actor and stand-up comedian, Patty attended Augusta State University and studied accountancy at Ogeechee Technical College.

In 2003, Billy and Patty Gardell welcomed their first child together, son William III.

In a 2011 interview for a 'Dispatch Life' feature, the actor revealed at the time that his acting career gave him mental and financial stability for his family's sake. He said: "It’s afforded the feeling that the rent is paid for my family. My wife and I have been married 10 years and have a seven-year-old boy, Will. If we can keep it going, it can put our kid through college. It’s an answer to a lot of prayers."

Additionally, he highlighted the love he has for their son. Billy said: "He’s my hero. He’s the reason I get up. He’s the light of my life. I just love every part of his life. Every weekend he’s down with his friends. And I root for that so he doesn’t move back in when he’s 40 and I’ve got to sue him to get him out of the house."

In the same interview, Gardell revealed what seems to be the key to his successful marriage. He added: "I’ve learned you need to shut up when you’re married. I’ve learned that you’re never right and it’s easier to do something you want done than ask someone else to do it."

Billy and Patty Gardell have been very much in love! The actor once said in an interview with 'Wall Street Journal': "I always tell my wife, Patty, she's a gift because she is completely grounded. We both came from modest backgrounds, and family is more important to her than success."

Over the past years, Billy has lost a significant amount of weight, of course, with wife Patty's support.

Speaking to 'Entertainment Tonight' the 'Bob Hearts Abishola' star, who weighed 370 pounds at his heaviest, said: "I float between 205 [pounds] and 210 [pounds]. Self-care is important, and I think I finally got there. I think you got to find peace with yourself and at some point, look in the mirror and go, 'You know, it's probably time to take care of you.' And I didn't get that note early on. But I'm a big believer that when you get it, you get it. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as you get it."

As of 2024, Billy and Patty Gardell are still happily married!
