Meet Odeya Rush: Newcomer of Netflix
Odeya actually began her career as a model as an adolescent for brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Gap, and Guess. She landed her first acting roles in Law & Order: SVU and Curb Your Enthusiasm, and then her first film role for the Disney movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
In 2014, she landed a bigger role in the film The Giver, which included an all-star cast of Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes and Alexander Skarsgård. You may also remember Odeya from the 2015 movie Goosebumps as Jack Black's daughter, "Hannah Fairchild".
One of her biggest moments in Hollywood was starring as a supporting actress in Greta Gerwig's Lady Bird, which earned 5 Academy Awards.
Over the last couple of years, we've been loving Odeya in Netflix films such as Dumplin' and Let It Snow. Dumplin' was produced by the queen herself, Jennifer Aniston, who also starred in the film. Let It Snow also included an amazing, talented cast, including Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka. If you haven't seen them yet, definitely add these to your watch list!
We also loved her recent film, Pink Skies Ahead, alongside Mary J. Blige, released in 2020, and look forward to Umma... another film to watch out for this year!
