Rapper Pop Smoke was tragically taken from the world much too soon, at just 20 years old. On a Wednesday morning in February, police were called to the Hollywood Hills mansion he was renting after gunshots were heard.

After being rushed to the hospital, the Brooklyn native was pronounced dead. According to the police report at the time, there were three masked men that entered the home with guns.

Five men arrested as suspects

Pop Smoke, born Bashar Jackson, may see justice for his murder after all. On Thursday night, five men were taken into custody with a potential link to the February murder.

LAPD arrested three men and two juveniles as suspects, charging them with murder, and attempted murder. Their bail is set at $1 million each.

Police suspect the men are involved with not only the murder of Pop Smoke but various other gang-related activities in the area.

In a press release, the investigators said it was most likely a home invasion gone wrong, as the suspects knew Pop Smoke was staying at the rented home from his Instagram posts.

The home is owned by Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp and her husband Edwin Arroyave.
