After five seasons on the Real Housewives of New York, Dorinda Medley is announcing her departure. The owner of the infamous "shark room" is saying goodbye to the past five years.

Announcing her departure on Tuesday, Medley was sentimental but ready to say goodbye. Although Bravo hasn't made a statement yet, Medley's farewell seemed to still be in good spirits.

Dorinda Medley says goodbye

The Real Housewives of New York alum Dorinda Medley is saying goodbye to her fans, and we will all surely miss those perfect one-liners!

Sharing her departure on social media, the Bluestone Manor heiress wrote an emotional post.

"What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice," she started.

"But all things must come to an end," she continued. "This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away. I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life and about women along the way."

"Thank you to Bravo and NBC for the incredible ride and to my castmates for constant stimulation and entertainment. I wish you all health, happiness and success. Clip!" she concluded.

Medley joined the franchise in 2015 at the start of season 7, and quickly became a fan-favourite for her tell-it-like-it-is attitude and perfected one-liners.

Throughout the last 5 seasons, viewers have watched Medley cope with the loss of her husband Richard, and in the latest season—which is still airing—Medley opens up about going through some emotional changes in her life.

When filming for season 12 started, Medley said previously to People that, "I was going through a lot of changes that were really taking a toll in my personal life."

"There were moments where I was like, 'I don’t want to do this. It's too much, it’s too big,'" she said, referring to her long-term relationship coming to an end, breaking a rib, and the beautiful Bluestone Manor flooding causing massive renovations.

Next season of the Real Housewives of New York will look very different, as another full-time cast member, Tinsley Mortimer, also quit the series to move to Chicago.
