- Dirty Dancing still inspires many to this day
- Just not Jennifer Grey's daughter
- She doesn't like the film for a reason
Dirty Dancing is a classic film that still inspires people all over the world today. Patrick Swayze (†57) and Jennifer Grey (62) played the leading roles in the romantic dance film. But of all things, Jennifer's daughter Stella (20) is not a fan of the cinematic hit at all, as the Dirty Dancing star revealed.
Jennifer Grey: "She didn't like it and she didn't want to see it again"
The actress is raising daughter Stella with her ex-husband Clark Gregg, the two split up in 2020, but revealed that Stella didn't like the movie at all because she didn't want to see her mother dancing with anyone but her father.
"I think she saw it once. She did not like it and did not want to watch it again. I don't know if she ever watched it again. She did not want to see me dancing with anybody but Daddy and it bugged her," Jennifer told Entertainment Weekly.
Sequel to Dirty Dancing
Meanwhile, Jennifer will reprise her role of "Frances 'Baby' Houseman", in an upcoming production of Dirty Dancing, although she admitted it must be a fresh new take on the story, as there's no way to replace her late co-star Patrick Swayze, who played her love interest "Johnny Castle" in the flick.
"I can't tell you much, sadly, but I will tell you that it will involve Baby. It will involve Kellerman's. There will be music. Unless there's a lot of CGI, Baby's going to be a little older. It's going to be Kellerman's, music, dancing, love story, romance," Grey revealed.
