Born on August 19, 1984, Simon Bird was educated at Cranmore School, West Horsley, the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, and Queens' College, Cambridge, where he read History along with Inbetweeners co-star Joe Thomas.

At Cambridge, Bird was the President of the Footlights, the university's sketch and theatrical group (paving the way for his acting interest). He graduated with a Double First.

Awards and career after The Inbetweeners

Due to his role in The Inbetweeners, Bird won the 2008 British Comedy Award for Best Male Newcomer and the 2009 British Comedy Award for Best Actor. He was also nominated for Best Comedy Performance at the 2008 Royal Television Society Awards, and Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme at the 2009 BAFTA Awards. 

After The Inbetweeners, Bird featured in the popular sitcom Friday Night Dinner playing the role of "Adam Goodman" and you can still find him in that role today. Bird also appeared in a few episodes of Sandyland as "Nathan" in 2020. 

Simon Bird's personal life

In 2012, Bird married Lisa Owens; they met at Cambridge University. Bird proposed to Owens in Paris and they married a year later. Their first child, a daughter, was born in 2016. We can't wait to see more of Simon Bird on our screens soon!
