It was officially announced on Saturday April 4 that the late Kobe Bryant will be posthumously inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. His widow Vanessa Bryant and his 17-year-old daughter Natalia appeared on ESPN shortly after the announcement was made and shared their thoughts on the news.

Vanessa said she and here family are "extremely proud" and that this was truly the "peak" of Kobe's career.

Vanessa Bryant: "We wish that he was here with us to celebrate"

Vanessa Bryant spoke out about her late husband's milestone on ESPN: "It's an incredible accomplishment and honor and we're extremely proud of him. Obviously we wish that he was here with us to celebrate but it’s definitely the peak of his NBA career."

"Every accomplishment that he had as an athlete was a stepping stone to be here. We're incredibly proud of him," and added that she felt "some solace" recently "knowing that he was probably going to be a part of the 2020 Hall of Fame class."

At the age of only 41, Kobe Bryant passed away suddenly on January 26  along with his 13-year-old-daughter Gianna and 7 others in a helicopter crash outside of Los Angeles. He was survived by his wife Vanessa and their three daughters. Rest in peace, Kobe!
