Zac Efron's Hottest Movie Roles Through The Years

Born October 18, 1987, Zac Efron led a pretty normal childhood in Southern California. While Zac was a dedicated student, he was also known for being a class clown. He would later channel this comedic energy into acting and singing, taking classes at a local theatre. While still in his teens, Zac would begin guest-starring in shows like ER, The Guardian, and Summerland before landing the role that would change his career forever...

The film that would thrust Zac Efron into the spotlight and subsequently increase his female fanbase was 2006's High School Musical. Playing the lead of "Troy Bolton", a basketball star who discovers his passion for theatre and singing, Zac Efron became one of the biggest teen heartthrobs of the 2000s! Talented and handsome, Zac's career (and body) would only get better and better! 

While Zac keeps his clothes on in 2007's film adaptation of the musical Hairspray, fans couldn't help but fall in love with the dreamy "Link Larkin"! Due to his fame and fanbase following High School Musical, producers cast Efron in the film to draw a large teenage crowd in—and that it did! 

What was even better than High School Musical? Watching Zac Efron become even hotter in its sequels! In fact, the first two films were so successful on Disney channel that the third film would be released in cinemas! The film was a major hit and fans were eager to get a look at Zac Efron as his character became the basketball team captain! 

With a title like 17 Again you know you will be in for a treat when Zac Efron is involved! Once again Zac would draw teenage fans to theaters to see this hilarious comedy, where a 37-year-old is turned back into his 17-year-old self! And with arms and abs like Zac's, it's no wonder fans couldn't get enough of the sexy and talented star! 

Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, 2010's Charlie St. Cloud was a box office success, and it's easy to guess why! Zac Efron was proving himself to be like a fine wine—he only gets better with time! Just look at those strong arms!

With as big of a fanbase as Zac Efron had acquired by the 2010s, it is no surprise that he would be chosen as the lead in 2012's film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks' novel The Lucky One. The role of "Logan Thibault", a U.S. Marine who shows up to a small town in order to find his good luck charm, was a perfect fit for Zac Efron! Once again, despite negative reviews by critics, the film managed to gross almost $100 million! Fans continued to show up to see their favorite teen heartthrob who was now turning into an adult heartthrob!  

As Zac Efron's career has progressed he's become more liberal with showing off that awesome body of his! 2014's Neighbors was met with praise from critics, who noted that Zac had finally let go of his Disney image and made it in the big leagues! We can't argue with them there!

Once he took his shirt off, there was no stopping Zac Efron from continuing to show off his killer-abs, and while 2016's Dirty Grandpa was criticized for being too crude, fans flocked to theaters to see Efron shirtless, making the film a commercial success! 

The mother of all Zac Efron ab movies is 2017's Baywatch! Baywatch is definitely the height of Zac's abs' career, and the star has said that he will probably never have a body like that again—and he's totally fine with it! On an episode of Hot Ones, Zac stated, "I realized that when I was done with that movie, I don’t ever want to be in that good of shape again. It was so hard.” While we may never see abs like that again from Zac, we sure are glad it was caught on film!
