The new music video uses motion-control effects to produce fluid camera movements across still scenes.

Urban also offered a few comments about the song and video shoot to Entertainment Weekly

When he was first approached with the country pop track, which had multiple co-writers and producers, Urban said: "I just loved the feel of it — [it] just spoke to me right away."

The 52-year-old country star also had hopes of shooting the music video at night, to align with the lyrics of the song ("Sometimes I forget who we were back then/It's Saturday night stealing cold beer and cigarettes.").

But due to weather concerns, the video required daytime filming. They attempted to darken the footage in post-production, but, Urban added, it "just looked like a really depressing video, so we scrapped that idea."

"Whatever, it's a party," he concluded.

Urban's most recent album, Graffiti U, came out in 2018. "Polaroid" is his newest single, following "God Whispered Your Name" from earlier this year.
