King Charles recently visited French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles. During his stay, he delivered several speeches, including one in which he recalled the time his mother spent in France.

The song that left an "impression" on Charles

According to Charles, the late Queen had gone to France for the first time as monarch in 1948 “shortly after their wedding.” He revealed they had had a lovely evening, dancing to French music, which left an “impression” on the King, according to ‘Town & Country’.

He used the rest of his speech to thank the French people and the president for the "touching gestures" in honor of his mother's death.
