Duchess Kate and Prince William have made a sizeable donation towards some organizations that have provided aid to the United Kingdom! As People reports, The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge gave over $2 million through a special fund created because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Kate and William support frontline, mental health charities

Duchess Kate and Prince William provided significant financial aid to 10 different charities through The Royal Foundation, donating a total of £1.8 million. Each of the organizations that received funding support either frontline workers or mental health services in the United Kingdom.

Kate and William even invited some representatives from several organizations receiving charitable donations from the COVID-19 response fund to their home! Earlier on in the week, four of the beneficiaries joined the Cambridges at their Norfolk home, known as Sandringham Estate, for a socially distanced discussion outdoors.

Kate and William share they've "been in awe" of workers

Kate spoke about how she and William are amazed by the work being done across the United Kingdom. "Over recent months we have all been in awe of the incredible work that frontline staff and emergency responders have been doing in response to COVID-19," she shared. "But we know that for many of them, their families, and for thousands of others across the UK, the pandemic will have a lasting impact on their mental health."

William mentioned he was glad that the Cambridges' charity has been able to offer significant support. "It’s great to hear how The Royal Foundation is supporting you and many others to build resilience and give you the networks you need through its COVID-19 Response Fund," he said, "which will help ten leading charities continue their crucial work."

Kate and William have showed their support during pandemic

Kate and William are known mental health advocates who have shown their support for the United Kingdom during these challenging times! Earlier this month, Duchess Kate and Prince William reunited in a visit with hospital staff, marking their first public appearance since the pandemic began. Prince William also stepped out to thank first responders!

The royal couple also plans to take their support of key workers overseas. Duchess Kate and Prince William have shown their appreciation for Canadian frontline workers, promising to visit Canada once lockdown is over! Hopefully it doesn't take too long for Kate and William to make that trip so they can thank them in person!
