The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary today. Unlike Prince Harry (34) and Duchess Meghan (37), who exchanged vows in St. George's chapel in Windsor, Prince William (36) and Kate Middleton (37) tied the knot at Westminster Abbey in London eight years ago today.

Just like many royals before her, Kate's wedding dress was exquisite and she looked absolutely stunning in a bespoke bridal gown by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, with handmade lace appliqué on the skirt and bodice of the dress by the Royal School of Needlework.

We have watched Will and Kate grow up together over the years. The royals met whilst they were both students at the University of St Andrews back in 2001 and started dating two years later in 2003.

Prince William proposed to Kate in 2010 and their engagement was officially announced on 16th November. He gave her his mother's engagement ring. William gave Kate the ring, which was given to Lady Diana by Prince Charles, so that Diana would be present on their wedding day.

It looks like Kate might already have been in the mood to celebrate her wedding anniversary a few weeks ago when she wore the exact diamond earrings she wore on her wedding day to attend the Easter Service at Windsor Castle.
