Prince Harry has caused a stir with a personal essay about his British identity. In the run-up to Remembrance Day, the Duke of Sussex wrote about his ties to Great Britain and mentioned that he was "currently" living in the USA. This wording apparently caused a stir among the royals, as it could hint at a possible return to the UK. This small but subtle detail is said to have put palace staff on alert.
Harry's words make you sit up and take notice
In his essay, which is available to 'People' and others, Harry emphasized his love for Great Britain: "Though currently, I may live in the United States, Britain is, and always will be, the country I proudly served and fought for. The banter of the mess, the clubhouse, the pub, the stands - ridiculous as it sounds, these are the things that make us British. I make no apology for it. I love it."
These words have sparked speculation that Harry is considering a return. According to 'Cosmopolitan', a former court employee said that Harry could have simply said he was living in America, but the word "currently" implied that the situation was only temporary.
Future plans and rumors
During his appearance on the podcast 'Hasan Minhaj Doesn't Know' Harry also revealed that he has no plans to become a US citizen. "Will I become a US citizen? There are currently no plans to do so" he said. A return for Harry to his old home does not seem to be completely off the table.
He, his wife Duchess Meghan and their two children Archie and Lilibet currently live in California. Meghan is now even going back to her roots and will be acting again. According to 'Deadline', she is set to play herself in the Amazon MGM Studios film 'Close Personal Friends', starring alongside stars such as Lily Collins.
