Charlene has recently visited her native South Africa where she spent around 10 months. The purpose of her stay was to recover from a severe ear, nose and throat infection there. This past Friday, Prince Albert revealed that Charlene has been admitted to a “treatment facility” after it became “evident she was unwell” within hours of her return to Monaco.

The prince said that his wife will remain at the facility for “at least several” weeks, and so it doesn't look like a minor health problem but is perhaps an indication of a more serious issue with her body. Her royal family remains by her side through it all!

Monaco Royals During Princess Charlene's Absence

The princess reunited with her children and her husband on November 8, even sharing a photo of them all together on Instagram. She wrote: "Happy day today. Thank you all for keeping me strong!!"

Many have speculated that perhaps the real reason for her absence is marital problems. Prince Albert was quick to dispel these rumors, telling People magazine: "I'm probably going to say this several times, but this has nothing to do with our relationship. I want to make that very clear - these are not problems within our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. It's of a different nature," said Albert.

The truth will surely come out soon, and we'll be sure to keep on how things develop around the Monegasque royal family!
