In a recent interview, Prince Harry has said that the new Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix "is a story that the world needs right now". The production tells the story of how the Paralympic games were created after the second world war and became the third largest sporting event on the planet.

Prince Harry: Rising Phoenix is about "purpose and drive"

While talking about his involvement in the new documentary Rising Phoenix, Prince Harry told People: "Rising Phoenix is a story that the world needs right now. We are confronted by the true power of the human spirit and the sheer strength of mind to overcome and achieve what most would deem impossible."

"It proves that sport is much more than a physical skill, it is purpose and drive, community and comradery, ambition and self-worth. These athletes are not only a credit to their countries and to their sport, they are also a true testament to human endeavour, and the epitome of resilience."

The Duke of Sussex certainly knows what he is talking about, having created the Invictus Games in 2014, an event not unlike the Paralympics that lets wounded veterans compete in different disciplines. Prince Harry has always reminded people that the Invictus Games really showcase the resilience and amazing spirit of the wounded and injured servicemen and women.

In the documentary, the Duke also talked about how important it was for him to see the Paralympics in London in 2014: "A lot of people, based on what they'd been told, thought it was going to be a failure and that they weren't going to be able to sell tickets,” he says. "The stadiums were packed. The sport was incredible. And what they saw was undoubtedly better than the Olympics themselves."

Viewers around the world can watch Rising Phoenix on Netflix right now and judge for themselves if Prince Harry is right and the doc really is "a story that the world needs right now". We reckon he might be right on this one...!
