Princess Amalia in hospital

After the fall, Princess Amalia was immediately taken to hospital, as the royal palace confirmed in an official statement. Her mother, Queen Máxima, then left an event organized by the MIND Us Foundation at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague to be with her daughter. According to a statement made by the palace, "The surgery went well. She will remain in the UMC Utrecht for monitoring until tomorrow."

Riding is a passion that has accompanied Princess Amalia since childhood. Despite her regular riding lessons, this appears to be the first time she has been seriously injured while pursuing this hobby. Away from her leisure activities, the Princess devotes herself to her studies in politics, psychology, law and economics at the University of Amsterdam. She was last seen in April together with her sister, Princess Alexia, at the King's Day celebrations.

The princess's accident had an immediate impact on the royal family. Queen Máxima left an event to be by her daughter's side. While Amalia recovers in hospital, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima continue with their planned engagements without any changes.
