Why it is special
Normally, unions between members of the Royal family do not share a public kiss, since it is viewed as private, so why did William kiss Kate? Well because his father and mother were the first to share a kiss on the balcony.
The first pair to do so was King Charles with the late Lady Diana in 1981, when they “broke tradition”, according to ‘ABC News’.
