Created by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, and Teresa Fernández, Cable Girls follows four women of different backgrounds who work for a modern telecommunications company in Spain.
Though their work as 1920s telephone operators is interesting in itself, the characters feed the series with unique problems, ranging from family to romance and class-based conflicts.
With an April 2017 premiere, the series became a hit, allowing the young actresses who made up the cast to demonstrate their talents to an international audience.
