Fans of the magical world of Harry Potter, we have news for you! Despite the recent shutdown in the film industry in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, some production companies are all ready to restart filming some of their most important titles that were halted after the closure of studios and cinemas.

One of them is Fantastic Beasts 3, the next film in the expanded universe of the most famous wizard in the world. At least that's how the leading actor, Eddie Redmayne, announced it.

Eddie Redmayne confirms filming of Fantastic Beasts 3

In an interview with CinemaBlend, the star of The Theory of Everything and The Danish Girl commented that the sequel to Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is already underway.

"It’s interesting because we’ve started shooting now. We’re two weeks in, and again, it’s a whole new process. It’s a whole new normal," Redmayne revealed.

The actor also talked about the experience of filming the blockbuster during a global pandemic: "Testing frequently, masks. And I wondered, actually, whether the masks would affect creativity, in some ways. Maybe that was a bit ignorant, but I just thought, as humans, do we need interaction to spark from each other. What is really reassuring is that it is a different process, but it still feels like it’s fizzing and that everyone is working at the top of their game," he said to CinemaBlend

The films that have already returned to the sets

Although the pandemic did not stop many independent productions from working on empty streets, a large number of projects were canceled or postponed until conditions improved.

Such is the case for Jurassic World 3, whose production restarted only a few days after Europe was allowed to return to studies. The same happened with The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson.

The third installment of Fantastic Beasts hits theaters in 2021.
