Little House on the Prairie: Dean Butler fondly recalls "Almanzo" and "Laura's" first kiss

He particularly remembers the episode "Sweet Sixteen" from the sixth season of Little House on the Prairie, in which "Almanzo" and "Laura" kiss for the first time. "It was a huge turning point for Melissa Gilbert as Laura and it was a turning point for me in the work I was doing as Almanzo and it was a huge turning point in the series," said Butler in the interview.

For Melissa Gilbert, who was 15 at the time, it was her very first kiss. In a joint interview on the talk show Home & Family, Melissa revealed she was very "terrified" at the time.

For co-star Dean Butler, it must have been "a huge responsibility," she said. It wasn't even clear to him that it was his co-star's first kiss, which he described as very "brave". Dean Butler sees his time on the show as a true "blessing". He still feels connected to the Little House on the Prairie world today.
