Well that's awkward! You may or may not remember, but actress Mariska Hargitay, known today from Law & Order: SVU, actually appeared on Seinfeld back in the day.
This was in 1993. Hargitay had a small part in Seinfeld season 4, where she played an actress auditioning for the female lead in "Jerry" and "George's" TV show.
But it wasn't so much the episode, but one that came shortly before, that makes things uncomfortable looking back.
Seinfeld got personal for Mariska Hargitay in another episode
That season, a famous Seinfeld episode called "The Implant" aired, just a few before the one featuring Mariska Hargitay.
It stars Teri Hatcher in a guest role as "Sidra," and "Jerry" and "Elaine" get caught up in a debate on whether or not she has breast implants.
The episode features a silly joke where "Jerry" tries to turn the conversation to the topic with "Sidra."

Jayne Mansfield was actually the late mother of Mariska Hargitay. The famous actress died tragically in 1967, when Mariska was only 3 years old.
Nevertheless, Mariska Hargitay's part on Seinfeld came just a couple episodes after the joke about her mother.
Probably just a coincidence, but still an awkward and unfortunate one...
