In an interview with TV Insider, Wilmer Valderrama (40) spoke about the new season of NCIS, which is currently being filmed in the USA. Although the actor did not reveal any specific details, he was teasing the future of "Torres" and "Bishop".

NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama: "We're definitely trying to work on doing something different"

The two NCIS agents got closer last season. Fans, therefore, hope that "Ellie" and "Nick" will become a couple.

When asked about the relationship between the two, Valderrama said: "The exploration of relationships within the characters and all that stuff, it's something that's always a mystery. I certainly don't think that we will do something the show has seen before, and we're definitely trying to work on doing something different."

So far, there have hardly been any couples at NCIS who actually get together for a long time. Could "Torres" and "Bishop" develop in this direction? Valderrama revealed what we can expect from the new season in terms of his character.

"I don't know what's in store for any of the other characters, but for my character specifically, we're going to be finding out so much more about his past this season. This season is going to really focus a lot on where he really came from, what was his upbringing and his family, so we're going to get learn a little bit more about his family since Torres has been such a mystery to the audience for the last four years," he explained.

Seems like the past plays a huge role in season 18. In addition to "Torres", the audience is also expected to take a look inside "Gibbs'" past in two time jumps.

The new NCIS season is expected to be broadcast in the US in November.
