She says they used it to tell "brutal lies" which ruined "her reputation, her character and her life.". Series creator Richard Gadd claims that the show is based on a "true story" of his personal experiences in which he portrays a "fictionalized version of himself being stalked by "Martha" as 'The Verge' reports.
Defending themselves
Harvey claims that her identity as the inspiration for "Martha" was "completely undisguised" and Netflix "did literally nothing" in terms of fact-checking.
