Only a couple of weeks after Marvel announced the possibility of introducing a LGBTQ character in one of its upcoming films, Tessa Thompson's "Valkyrie" has officially been selected as Marvel's first LGBTQ superhero.

"Valkyrie" will be in a new relationship

Although "Valkyrie" is already a well-known character since Thompson portrayed her in the 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok, there was no information regarding the super-heroine's sexuality. This time around, Marvel revealed that "Valkyrie" will be involved in an explicitly queer relationship.

Historic moment within the superhero universe

For several years the Marvel Universe has been fighting in terms of diversity and has shared its concern on defending the LGBTQ community. Tessa Thompson is an active proponent of inclusion who has publicly spoken about her own bisexuality.
