Zoe Kravitz will be the newest amongst the icons to portray the great "Catwoman". Kravitz has recently taken the world by storm in her acting career, most notably working on high profile TV series such as Big Little Lies, and producing some of her own shoes as well, like the reboot of High Fidelity.

Zoe Kravitz as "Catwoman"

The newest rendition of the anti-hero we all love takes a new turn in the latest "Batman" film! Kravitz, who shared that she worked really hard to prepare for the role, also decided that the character to her was muli-dimensional, and therefore subtly alluded to "Catwoman" being fluid in her sexuality. After all, the sex appeal that "Catwoman" exudes is partly why she's such an icon to begin with!

This is the first time that "Catwoman" has been portrayed in such a way, and Kravitz revealed to an Australian news outlet, Pedestrian, she was more than thrilled to share a new layer to the beloved character.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is an Oscar-winning actress with a pretty impressive resume! Working on everything from rom-coms to serious dramas, it's no wonder she was selected to play "Catwoman"!

Anne Hathaway as "Catwoman"

Anne Hathaway played "Catwoman" alongside Christian Bale (Batman), and Tom Hardy (Bane), and was incredible as a sly vixen. She's been dubbed as arguably the best "Catwoman" according to plenty of Batman fan sites!

What makes her so good, you ask? Her simple yet clever dialogue oozes sex appeal and gives off an insincere air of innocence. When she said the simple "Oops" in a moment of a major heist that lead to a wild fight scene, it was a moment that was endearing and yet somehow macabre. This is the true nature of the villain, and undoubtedly some of the characteristics found in felines that make us weary!

Julie Newmar was a huge star in the '50s, '60s, and '70s! Mostly showing up on broadway, Newmar was simply sexy and elegant, true things needed for "Catwoman"!

Julie Newmar as "Catwoman"

Being one of the first "Catwoman's" we've seen on the big and small screen, Julie Newmar gave the comic book character life! Her rendition of the cat was subtle, but it was uber sexy!

Out of the three seasons, Batman aired from 1966-68, and there were only 15 episodes that included the slinky cat. Newmar, who played 12 of those 15, made her the most familiar face of retro "Catwoman"!

Eartha Kitt

The beloved Eartha Kitt was a huge actress in the '60s, and it was her variety of singing, dancing, and acting that really made her mark!

Eartha Kitt as "Catwoman"

While Julie Newmar played most of the episodes with "Catwoman", Eartha Kitt's exploration of the role was widely loved. Only replacing Newmar because of scheduling conflicts, no one anticipated Kitt to knock the role out of the park quite as she did!

Her version of the sneaky feline was a bit more ruthless than Newmar, which audiences loved! Although Newmar pursued the more flirtatious aspects of "Batman" and "Catwoman's" relationship, due to its release being in 1968, the unfortunate reality of the time meant that the romance aspect of "Catwoman" and "Batman" was completely left out. But, Eartha Kitt still made her name, and was the first Black woman to have such a role in a superhero series! But she most certainly wouldn't be the last!

Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Pfeiffer was everywhere in the '90s, and for good reason! Her sultry voice and acting chops that would shame even the best of those in the thespian arts are undeniable, so it's no wonder she was asked to play the iconic role.

Michelle Pfeiffer as 'Catwoman'

Michelle Pfeiffer stunned audiences in her latex black stitched suit, but it was more than just the major good looks that made her one of the most memorable to play "Catwoman"!

In 1992's Batman Returns, Pfeiffer took on a role that was riddled with the perfect mix of an anti-hero we hate to love and multi-dimensional character development. Pfeiffer's version of "Catwoman" is one of the most loved of all time, partly due to the fact she recreated the character to be more with the times, as the '90s was a huge shift in culture. She was the first to make the subtle undertones of the character a feminist beacon in modern superhero films.
