"Lindsey McElroy" will be very familiar to Two and a Half Men fans who kept up with the sitcom after Charlie Sheen's exit. The mother of "Jake's" best friend, "Lindsey" begins an on-again/off-again relationship with "Alan Harper" (Jon Cryer) at the end of season 7.

"Lyndsey" then remains periodically involved with "Alan" in a total of 52 episodes until Two and a Half Men's season 12 finale. Some of the character's storylines involved flings with other men and her heavy drinking. "Alan" and "Lyndsey" were also engaged, and he restated his love for her in the finale episode, but "Lyndsey" was selling his engagement ring at a pawnshop at the time.

TV star Courtney Thorne-Smith portrayed "Lyndsey," making her final appearance on the show in 2015. Where is she today?

Since she last played "Lyndsey McElroy," Courtney Thorne-Smith has continued to act, though somewhat less frequently. In 2016, she had a small voice role on Robot Chicken, and appeared in two episodes of ABC's Fresh Off the Boat.

The former Melrose Place actress and longtime According to Jim star has also secured the title role in the Emma Fielding Mysteries TV movie series that airs on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel. So far, between 2017 and 2019, she's played "Emma Fielding" in three of these movies, based on novels by Dana Cameron.

Most recently, the popular TV actress had a guest role as "Sam" in a 2020 episode of CBS's Mom. Today, Thorne-Smith says she's been afforded the right to be "choosy" about roles she takes on. "I go out on some auditions, but I don't want to work out of town, and those shows are few and far between," she told The NY Post in 2020.

The 52-year-old actress is also social media-shy, as she doesn't appear to offer any official accounts to follow what she's up to! We hope to see her in more "Emma Fielding" movies and TV series in the near future.
