Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have moved into a new home in the UK less than three months after returning from Montecito, California. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Britain on 26 August and had been staying with a wealthy businessman friend in the Cotswolds. Now, according to Hello Magazine, they have left the main house and settled into another property on the same private estate. The move happened before the couple traveled for an October half-term break with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Prince Harry and Meghan Settle on Cotswolds Estate
The latest shift suggests the couple may have found a more workable base while they spend time in Britain. Hello Magazine reports that another home on the estate had been prepared for them and is now ready. Harry and Meghan were said to be considering a countryside family home with a budget of up to £10 million. That search may now be paused if the new arrangement suits their needs. Privacy remains central, and the exact location of their UK residence has not been made public for security reasons.
Frogmore Cottage Exit Changed Their UK Base
The couple have not had a permanent home in Britain since 2023, when they were asked to leave Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. The property had been a gift from Queen Elizabeth II and served as their UK base after their marriage. Its loss marked a major shift in how the pair managed visits to Britain. Since then, any accommodation details have been tightly guarded. Their current move to a separate property on a private estate points to a more stable setup than short stays with friends.
Montecito Mansion and Portugal Home Stay in Place
Even with the UK move, Harry and Meghan are understood to have kept their $29 million home in Montecito. The California property includes 13 bedrooms, an outdoor pool, a nursery, a home office, a wine cellar and a tennis court. Their chickens are also still there, with staff caring for them. The couple also own a coastal home in Portugal, near a property linked to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. Together, those homes show that their property footprint still stretches across several countries.
Meghan Markle’s Father Faces Care Home Reports
The housing update comes alongside troubling reports involving Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle Sr. He has reportedly been moved to a specialist dementia care facility in Florida. The reports also say he is under investigation over suspected child sexual abuse images allegedly found in his belongings. His son, Thomas Markle Jr., is said to have handed material to police in the Philippines and to the FBI last month. A second alleged stash was reportedly found in a storage unit near Rosarito, Mexico, during a police raid.
