Charles Spencer has sparked new debate within the royal family with his book 'Swan Song: Diana, My Sister'. Diana’s brother published the book on September 22, in which he made serious allegations about King Charles III. The book focuses on accounts from the years before and after Diana’s death.

For Prince William and Prince Harry, the issue soon became a matter of public attention as well. Both were asked about the book during public appearances and reacted in strikingly similar ways. This brought not only the book’s contents into focus but also the public responses of Diana’s sons.

William and Harry Remained Silent When Asked About the Book

Prince Harry was asked on the sidelines of an event hosted by the charity WellChild whether he had spoken with his uncle in recent days. He did not respond. A day later, William also declined to comment when asked about his uncle’s book.

The parallel responses drew attention, particularly given the brothers’ long-standing estrangement.

Charles Spencer Described His Allegations Against the King

In the book, Spencer described, among other things, a scene from 1992 at his father’s funeral. According to Spencer, Charles, who was heir to the throne at the time, told him that he was fortunate to be inheriting the throne so early.

When Spencer reacted with irritation, Charles is said to have added that he himself, at the age of 43, still had not inherited anything and was being treated like a little child by his parents. Spencer also wrote that Charles stamped his foot at that moment.

Podcast Claims About William Draw Further Attention

The story drew further attention during a podcast. Host Mark Dolan said of the Prince of Wales: “My royal sources tell me that William is absolutely furious about the book, that he doesn’t have a good relationship with his uncle, and he’s firmly on his father’s side,” according to Express.co.uk.

Dolan did not provide publicly verifiable evidence for the claim about William’s alleged reaction. Harry also did not comment publicly, and Dolan interpreted his silence as a possible indication of his position on the matter.
