Kenny Rogers died at the age of 81. The country legend is remembered for genre classics including "The Gambler" and "Coward of the County." Many of today's country music stars took inspiration from his music. Some honoured the late legend by sharing cover versions of his songs. See them below.

Jake Owen shared a "lil tribute" to "The Gambler," which he called "one of my favourite songs ever." Brad Paisley, meanwhile, took on Rogers' "Sweet Music Man."

Paisley included a note, saying: "Rest In Peace Kenny Rogers. We loved you." In addition, Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans played the Kenny Rogers-Dolly Parton duet track "Islands in the Stream."

"For Mr. Rogers- thank you for your music, may you rest well," reads Ballerini's Twitter post. The music world was saddened by the news of Rogers' passing on Friday, March 20. He was 81.
