Robert Irwin is lucky to be alive after a crocodile came close to claiming his life! Irwin opened up about the incident during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, explaining that he knew he was in danger.

Irwin says incident with croc was "definitely scary"

Irwin is used to working with animals since he has spent his life at the Australia Zoo. However, the son of the late "Crocodile Hunter" had to think on his feet when a croc named Casper tried to attack him during a feeding not long ago! Irwin went so far as to say that it was an "almost died sort-of-thing" and explained what led to the situation.

The 18-year-old conservationist explained they hadn't fed that particular crocodile before, sharing how he "had to completely ditch the food, run and jump over a fence while there was a croc right at my heels." Even though Irwin said the moment was "definitely, definitely scary," he admitted that croc feeding gives him "a really exciting adrenaline rush"!

Unsurprisingly, he also mentioned how his dad is the one who made him passionate about crocs to begin with. Irwin's near-death encounter with Casper was caught on-camera while filming the season finale of Crikey! It's The Irwins.
