Demi Lovato releases new self love track

Demi Lovato is getting real about her internal struggles, and the balance she must work at when it comes to loving herself.

On Friday, the singer released a new single titled "I Love Me". The video shows Lovato in various circumstances with herself.

The video starts with the star battling three versions of herself playing on the lines, "I'm a black belt when I'm beating up on myself".

However, it does not take long for Lovato to realize fighting against herself is not getting her anywhere so she decides to start loving herself instead.

The music video is also full of references to her overdose that happened in the summer of 2018.

During an appearance on Thursday's Ellen DeGeneres Show, the singer dove into her love life, saying, "I was on dating apps for a while but as I’ve spent some time with myself over the past couple months, I realized that I am the type of person that will find any way to regulate when I’m sad or lonely or whatever,” she began.

“I have to fight those battles on my own and I can’t let somebody come in and fix those issues for me. So right now, I’m single and spending my Saturday nights by myself," she continued.

The "I Love Me" track comes after her powerful single released in January "Anyone". She was tearful as she hit the Grammy stage to perform. She had to take a moment to reconvene before starting again to complete the song in her second attempt.
