Fred Armisen and Natasha Lyonne's History
Portlandia star Fred Armisen was previously married to singer-songwriter Sally Timms and then The Handmaid's Tale's Elisabeth Moss until 2011. Fred is an admitted sex addict and in 2013 he told Howard Stern that he was a "terrible husband" and committed frequent infidelity. Elisabeth confirmed this with New York Magazine, famously saying her marriage "was extremely traumatic and awful and horrible."
Orange Is the New Black star Natasha Lyonne had a scary and heartbreaking public battle with drug addiction that affected her health greatly until she went to rehab in 2006 and became sober.
The two have a complicated history individually so many were surprised to hear Fred and Natasha were a pair.
Lyonne told Glamour that her friend Maya Rudolph introduced her to Fred during her years of drug use so she does not remember the encounter. When she finally became sober Natasha was happy to have Armisen and Rudolph visit her frequently to check up on her.
