Nicolas Cage loves shortbread — so much, apparently, that he honoured the treat in a bizarre and random new outfit.
Cage's new movie The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent opened at SXSW over the weekend, and he felt it was a good time to pay tribute to... shortbread, of all things.
Nicolas Cage rants about and dresses like shortbread
Nicolas Cage was in a good mood at SXSW and went on an unexpected rant about shortbread. "Well, I really like shortbread, and whenever I'm in England, I go get a tin can of shortbread," he said in an interview.
"I was feeling kind of happy, kind of like I was biting into some shortbread, so tonight I wanted to dress like I was a can of shortbread," Cage explained. He said all of this with a straight face, only breaking into a hearty chuckle at the very end.
As for that walking-can-of-shortbread look, Cage wore a dark plaid suit with a black, red, green, and white design. Sure enough, that is what many British shortbread tins look like.
