The song, "Waiting on a Miracle", received high praise for Beatriz's vocal range, but it turns out she was actually in the early stages of labour when recording it.

She told the outlet, "I didn’t want to tell anybody at Disney because I didn’t want anyone to freak out, but I was already having some contractions when we were scheduled to record that day."

Also Interesting:

Beatriz continued, "I was like 'Well, fingers crossed I finish the song before [the baby] comes!'" As it turned out, Beatriz gave birth the following day.

The director of the film said that they all knew how pregnant she was during the recording.

"We knew she was very, very, very, very ready to have that baby," Director Byron Howard said. "But she did not tell us she was almost, almost ready."

Beatriz also said that being "Mirabel" was the most "like her" a character she's ever played has been.

"Most of [my roles] I disappear into the character," she said. "And in a weird way it’s the same with this because it’s the most 'like me' role I’ve ever played, yet I’ve disappeared. It’s not my face, it’s an animated person."

Lin-Manuel Miranda, who was the songwriter for the film, said that Beatriz was perfect to sing "Waiting on a Miracle", because all the while she was singing, she was waiting for her own miracle to arrive.
