Johnny Crawford was born on March 26, 1946, but it was a few years later when he came to prominence for his role as "Mark McCain" in the classic western series The Rifleman, establishing his legacy on stage, film, television!

Johnny Crawford is struggling with Alzheimer's

Unfortunately, in his last years of life, the Los Angeles native had been staying out of the media limelight because he had been struggling with Alzheimer's disease. His wife Charlotte, with whom he was married from 1995 until his death in 2021, had been supporting him.

The couple actually struggled to pay for Johnny's treatment and so Paul Petersen, Johnny Crawford's former childhood friend, launched a campaign in 2020 urging fans to help him with this tough situation; the campaign collected part of the ten thousand dollar goal.

We always loved to see Johnny on screen and we were sad to hear of his passing on April 29th, 2021 at the age of 75. Crawford took a break from acting from 1999 until he starred in the 2019 film The Marshal as "William S. Hart," which ended up being his final role on screen.
