Kanye West released a new song dedicated to his late mother, Donda West, who would have turned 71 on Sunday. The rapper shared a video to Twitter sharing a snippet of the new single.
The song, titled "Donda", starts off with Kanye's mother herself reciting KRS-One’s lyrics, while clips of various Black experiences play.
Following Donda's voice clip, Kanye comes in and raps about his mother, and his personal struggle.
Kanye and Kim celebrate the late Donda
Along with Kanye's new single, his wife Kim Kardashian posted a throwback video of her husband and mother-in-law sharing a sweet moment.
The two are seen rapping in a kitchen to Kanye's 2005 hit, "Hey Mama".
Kanye has always been vocal about the pain following his mother's passing, and never shied away from the fact he was very close with her.
Some fans responded to Kim's post with some throwback videos, one of which included Donda and Oprah Winfrey watching Kanye perform his "Hey Mama" rap.
Donda would have turned 71 on Sunday but passed away in 2007 at just 58 years old.
