Katy Perry has shared what she expects motherhood will look like for her! The pop star is due to give birth any time now, and during a new interview for People, she was candid about the topic.

Perry says that as a mom she'll be "fun, firm, but fair"

Perry said that she's already got her future parenting approach figured out. "I'm the three Fs. I'm fun, firm but fair," she explained. "That's how I roll!"  And when it comes to how she'll parent in comparison to fiancé Orlando Bloom, she's already got both of their roles figured out.

"He's gonna be the good cop and I'm gonna be the bad cop. I already know it," Perry shared. "It's gonna be fine. Maybe it'll turn for the teenage years and I'll get the teenage years." She also referenced Amy Poehler's role in the iconic 2004 movie Mean Girls. "I'll be cool mom, you know?" Perry said. "Like in Mean Girls, [I'll] be like, 'Heeey!'"

Perry on life and career balance: "I love being a working mom"

Perry went on to talk about how excited she is to balance her career with motherhood. "She'll always be the No. 1 most important thing ever, naturally," she told People of her future daughter. "But I love being a working mom."

"I don't think there's anything negative about it. It's like, 'Wow, you can do that and that?' All right! That's a woman, you know?" The singer and American Idol judge said that after going through her journey with depression, she feels like she's in a better place than ever.

"My blessing in all of what I went through is that I just feel like I have a bigger, more dimensional life," she explained about her current outlook on things. "I get to live life and I get to bring life into the world."

Perry shared that she "used to be terrified" of motherhood

Perry didn't always feel excited about the prospect of being a mother though— in fact, the thought was a scary one to her! "I was really terrified of the idea of that two or three years ago. It was just like, I don't know how I'm ever gonna do that," she admitted. "I can barely take care of myself."

"I never once said out loud what I wanted," the singer continued. "Being the first, you're just grateful that your body can do this and that it's healthy, but I am glad that it's in the cards for me."

Perry also joked that since she's expecting a baby girl, she doesn't need to worry about her wardrobe! "My clothes are secure!" she exclaimed. "They have found a spot for the future." Even though the release of Perry's upcoming album Smile has been delayed, it's clear that talking about becoming a mom certainly makes her smile!
