  • Kelly Rowland said it was a treat to meet Meghan Markle
  • An unforgettable moment with the graceful Meghan Markle!

Singer Kelly Rowland, 42, opened up about her experience spending time with the Duchess of Sussex at Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour concert in Los Angeles on September 4, which also happened to be the performer's birthday. This was Meghan's second Beyoncé concert in just four days, and she looked stunning in a silver skirt while posing for a photo with Rowland and Kerry Washington.

A beautiful encounter

"It was my first time meeting her. It was just nice being there with other great women and being able to just simply talk," shared the Destiny's Child alum with 'Hello!'.

"I don't know what people expect to see or to know, but she just felt very cool and very down to earth. She is very warm," continued Rowland.

The "Motivation" singer also alluded to the British royal family, which Meghan became a part of when she married Prince Harry in 2018. However, the couple stepped back from their royal duties in 2020 and relocated to Meghan's home state of California, where they now reside with their children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet.

“She was royal before she was in that family. I think that we are royalty before anything. And we have to hold ourselves in that regard as humans, as people,” Rowland reflected.

When royalty meets music royalty

In addition to the birthday show, the Duchess of Sussex, who is also 42, attended Beyoncé's first Los Angeles show of the 'Renaissance World Tour' at SoFi Stadium in L.A. on September 1, accompanied by her husband Harry and her mom Doria Ragland. A photo posted on social media showed the trio in a private box, all donning shades of silver. Beyoncé had requested her fans to wear "fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 - 9.22" in honor of her 42nd birthday on September 4.

Meghan has previously expressed her admiration for Beyoncé, citing "Cozy" as her favorite song from the Renaissance album in a Variety cover interview in October 2022. She also shared a heartwarming text from Beyoncé in the docuseries 'Harry & Meghan,' which premiered on Netflix in December. In one scene from volume two, Meghan revealed that she was touched when the music superstar reached out the day after her and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey aired in March 2021.
