• Jonathan Majors is best known for his work in the MCU
  • He is currently under trial for assault
  • THIS is what we know about the proceedings

Charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment, Majors' glittering career trajectory has hit a sudden snag, and all eyes are on the legal stage where his fate will be decided. Back in March, the star of the upcoming Marvel blockbusters found himself in a real-life plot twist when Manhattan prosecutors accused him of assaulting his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.

Jonathan has a lot to defend himself against

The allegations? A car ride turned nightmare where Majors allegedly slapped Jabbari, got rough with her hand, and forcibly put her back in the vehicle after she attempted to escape. Majors, who's been riding the Hollywood hype train with his anticipated lead role in "Magazine Dreams," now faces a trial that could make or break his future in the film industry.

Unlike most defendants who take a plea deal, Majors is throwing the dice and pleading not guilty, determined to clear his name and keep his silver screen dreams alive.

But Priya Chaudhry, Majors' powerhouse attorney, isn't pulling any punches. She's come out swinging, labeling Jabbari a fabricator who was the aggressor in the altercation. It's a high-stakes battle of he-said-she-said, and the outcome could rewrite Majors' Hollywood script for better or for worse.

Jury selection is expected to begin Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court. The judge has also yet to rule on whether Manhattan District Attorney's office can tell jurors about a separate September 2022 London incident that they say is connected to the case but about which they have released few details.

Once the trial begins, prosecutors plan to introduce evidence that Majors manhandled Jabbari, 30, after she grabbed Majors’ phone to see who sent the "I wish I was kissing you" message, including by twisting her forearm and hitting her in the ear.

After Jabbari attempted to follow Majors out of the car, the actor "grabbed her, picked her up, and threw her back inside,” according to the DA’s office. Jabbari sustained "substantial pain, including a fractured finger, bruising about her body, a laceration behind her right ear, and a bump on her head," the DA’s court papers say.

Majors’ attorneys, meanwhile, have attempted to portray him as a victim in the case, and have pointed to the NYPD’s finding — based on Majors’ own complaint filed with police in June, saying that there was probable cause to arrest Jabbari for attacking the actor.

In the meantime, Jonathan Majors is finding comfort in the arms of his girlfriend, Meagan Good, just one day before he's set to appear in front of a jury for the start of his criminal trial.

Meagan has been by Jonathan's side pretty much throughout his criminal case ... which is interesting, considering their relationship kinda came out of nowhere, right on the heels of the ugly allegations hurled against him.

Will Jonathan Majors emerge victorious and reclaim his spot as Hollywood's next big thing, or will this legal drama spell the end of his rising stardom? Stay tuned as we bring you the latest from the courtroom where Majors' career is on trial!
