Mythbusters Star Denies Sisters Accusations

Adam Savage, host of the fun and educational Discovery Channel show Mythbusters, has just had a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him by his sister, Miranda Pacchiana. She claims that the abuse took place in the 1970s when she was between 7 and 10 years old and her brother was between 9 and 12 years old while they were living in Sleepy Hollow, New York.

Adam Savage, now 52, has categorically denied the claims. In a statement to Entertainment Tonight via his attorney Adam said "While I hope that my sister gets the help she needs to find peace, this needs to end. For many years, she has relentlessly and falsely attacked me and other members of my family to anyone who will listen. By spreading numerous untrue stories about us in pursuit of a financial bonanza, she has tortured our entire family and estranged herself from all of us.

His attorney stated that he will "fight this groundless and offensive lawsuit and work to put this to rest once and for all."

Adam and Miranda's mother also released a statement in support of her son and said "It makes me very sad to say this, but my daughter suffers from severe mental health challenges, and it's devastating that she's putting Adam and our entire family through this. Adam is a good man, and I support him completely."

Pacchiana is currently working as a social worker in a very affluent part of Connecticut and runs a website that provides support for victims and survivors of sexual assault and abuse. In her suit against her brother, she alleges "intentional infliction of emotional distress" and is asking for compensatory, punitive, and exemplary damages "in such sum as a jury would find fair, adequate and just."
