Neil Patrick Harris is sharing his relief that his husband David Burtka's medical procedure was a success! As Entertainment Tonight reports, Harris took to social media on Thursday to share that Burtka is currently in the hospital after spinal surgery, updating fans on his condition!
Harris shares photo of husband recovering in hospital
Harris posted a photo of Burtka smiling as he gives a thumbs-up from his hospital bed alongside an emotional caption! "David is recovering from spinal surgery," he wrote on Instagram. "It was fairly intensive, took over seven hours, but he’s in good spirits and doing well."
The actor then went on to express how grateful he is that everything went well during his husband's operation! "It’s one of the scarier, more hopeless feelings - hoping for the best, trying not to fear the worst, waiting a call with news," he explained. "Thankfully, all went according to plan. Whew..!"
Burtka reveals his surgery was over nine hours
Harris then ended his post with a touching message to Burtka. "I love you, @dbelicious. Your strength inspires me," he said, tagging his husband. And as Entertainment Tonight mentions, Burtka has also given fans more details about the surgery, as well as his current condition!
"Some of you have been asking that have not seen the @nph post- Monday I had a 9 + hour surgery on my spine," he said on Instagram, using the same photo Harris shared. "3 spinal fusions!! I am all good and already recovering. Oxy, Tylenol and muscle relaxers are helping immensely."
