Matthew Perry's passing: exploring the circumstances surrounding it

Dr. Michael Baden, in an interview with ' regarding Matthew Perry's passing, stated, "Usually the toxicology only takes a few weeks at most, but they may be intending to do more than the usual toxicological examinations," he said, adding, "Often [when there] is a great interest in a death, there's delay to do a more extensive toxicology than normal."

"I think from the information that's been released, we won't know until the toxicology is performed, given his history of problems with alcohol and drug abuse. But the fact that he was found in a hot tub raises issues immediately about drowning or even heat stroke," added Dr. Baden.

In fact, Matthew Perry has faced near-death situations on several occasions before.

More about Matthew Perry:

Within the pages of his memoir, 'Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,' Perry candidly shared his harrowing journey through years of grappling with alcohol and pill addiction. He detailed a life-altering experience in 2021 when he endured a five-minute cardiac arrest. Additionally, in 2018, he faced a dire situation when his bowels ruptured, necessitating a grueling seven-hour emergency surgery.

Following the operation, Matthew Perry slipped into a two-week-long coma, during which the odds of his survival were an astonishingly slim two percent.
