Eva Green was born on July 6th, 1980, in Paris to a family of actors. She became interested in acting at the young age of 14 and enrolled in the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.

Highly respected Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci cast her in his film The Dreamers which kick-started her career. She then went on to star in Daniel Craig's first James Bond film, Casino Royale. She portrayed the sensual and complicated "Vesper Lynd" so well she won a BAFTA and an Empire Award. 

Eva went on to work on films by both Ridley Scott and his daughter, Jordan Scott in Kingdom of Heaven and Cracks. She is often cast in dark and menacing roles like "Angelique Bouchard" alongside Johnny Depp in Dark Shadows and "Artemisia" in 300: Rise of an Empire

One of her most well-known roles is "Vanessa Ives" in the hit series Penny Dreadful for which she was even nominated for the Best Actress Golden Globe. 

Green worked with Tim Burton again in his film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children and in 2019's Dumbo! Now she is making huge waves as "Lydia Wells" in the BBC hit The Luminaries.
