Ghostbusters star Rick Moranis was the victim of a completely random attack in New York City and now the NYPD is asking the public for help finding the perpetrator.

Rick Moranis Attacked In NYC

The Honey, I Shrunk the Kids actor Rick Moranis was randomly assaulted by an unknown attacker in his home city NYC. His rep told Entertainment Tonight, "Rick Moranis was assaulted on the Upper West Side yesterday. He is fine but grateful for everyone's thoughts and well wishes."

The NYPD confirmed that Rick was rushed to the hospital after suffering pain in his head, back, and right hip. Subsequently, the NYPD Crime Stoppers posted the video footage of the callous attack and a still image of the suspect asking for the public to identify the cruel man.

In the video, he can be seen violently shoving 67-year old Rick Moranis and then calmly walking away. They also offered a $2,500 reward for information so hopefully, he is apprehended soon. Even actor Chris Evans chimed in and tweeted his anger at the situation.

Rick Moranis is a beloved comedy actor who stepped back from acting in 1997 to be a single father to his children after the tragic death of his wife Ann.

Rick will be returning to the big screen for a new Honey, I Shrunk the Kids film, called Shrunk. Fans are wishing Rick the best and looking forward to his big return to Hollywood.
