• Olivia Wilde given legal documents at big event
  • Wilde and Sudeikis separated back in 2020
  • Sudeikis's rep has commented on the situation

Olivia Wilde recently received an unwelcome surprise when she was publicly served court papers! As Deadline shares, Wilde was at an event on Tuesday evening when she received an envelope, which was revealed to contain custody documents from ex-partner Jason Sudeikis.

Wilde interrupted while talking about her new film

Wilde had been on stage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas talking about her upcoming new psychological thriller, Don't Worry Darling. The film is set to be released in September and stars Florence Pugh as well as Wilde's current flame, Harry Styles. However, the director's presentation became overshadowed by legal drama when she was suddenly given an envelope.

It has since been reported that the envelope, which was marked as being "personal and confidential," contained papers pertaining to the custody of her and Sudeikis's children. Wilde certainly didn't seem pleased to receive these documents, especially in such a public setting. However, she remained professional after the initial surprise of opening the envelope, and simply continued to present as planned.

Also interesting:

As Deadline shares, Sudeikis reportedly had "no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered," according to his representative. Sudeikis and Wilde parted ways back in 2020 after having been together for years. While the timing of Wilde getting served the papers was unfortunate for her, at least it seems that Sudeikis wasn't intentionally trying to ruin her big moment!
