However, the outside world learned quite late that for a time, Chalamet's girlfriend was actress Lily-Rose Depp.
Chalamet was "embarrassed" by paparazzi pictures of himself and Depp
Chalamet and Depp met during the shooting of the 2018 Netflix film The King, which is when sparks are said to have flown between them. In 2019, photos of the young actors sharing a tender kiss appeared. The two had been on vacation together on Capri for a few days when a paparazzo took pictures of Chalamet and his girlfriend.
In an interview with GQ, the actor later admitted that he was totally embarrassed by the kiss photos. "I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved," he told the outlet, "and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, 'That was great.'" But when Chalamet discovered the photos of himself and Depp in the press the next day, he had a rude awakening. The 25-year-old said he was "embarrassed, and looking like a real nob."
Chalamet's current girlfriend could be his former ex, insiders say
Chalamet and Depp were a couple for about a year. After the separation, there were initially rumours that Chalamet should have a girlfriend again. He is said to have dated the Mexican beauty Eiza González, and various media outlets reported on the couple. The two were reportedly spotted hanging out with friends in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and a paparazzi snapshot showed them kissing. Although the photo spoke volumes, neither Chalamet nor González commented on the rumours.
Several insiders have recently reported that Timothée's new girlfriend could actually be his ex, Lily-Rose Depp. An insider told In Touch Weekly that the two were in love again, but deliberately wanted to keep their second attempt out of the public eye. "Their relationship is going very well [..] It works better for them that way," the insider said.
