Lady Colin Campbell claims to know which Royal Family member Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan accused of making racist comments about their unborn child. On her podcast, the royal author named Princess Anne as the one allegedly behind the troubling remarks revealed in the couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey. However, Campbell described the incident as a misinterpretation, and she placed the blame on the Duke and Duchess for being "very eager to spot a slight where doubtless none exist."

Lady Colin Campbell claims Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan were referring to Princess Anne when they accused a family member of racist comments about their unborn child during their interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Campbell, a royal author, made the claim this week on her podcast, citing an unnamed insider as her source. She recounted the alleged incident between the royals, claiming that Harry and Meghan "weaponized" a remark Princess Anne made about "cultural differences" and made it about skin colour.

As Daily Mail reported, Campbell said, "There were no concerns about Meghan's colour." She told the story this way: "Princess Anne was rightly concerned that if [Harry and Meghan's] marriage proceeded and there were children there would be huge problems, not because of Meghan's colour, but because of Meghan's inability and determination to remain unable to appreciate the cultural differences."

From that point, Campbell claimed, "Harry decided that on the slimmest of hints about culture - that it referred to colour." She continued, "Harry ran to Meghan with the objections, Meghan weaponised them on the grounds of colour. We are looking at people who are very eager to spot a slight where doubtless none exist."

How Harry & Meghan told the racism story to Oprah

During Oprah with Meghan and Harry, Meghan first explained to Oprah that there were "concerns and conversations about how dark [Archie's] skin might be when he was born." She added, "That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that family had with him."

Prince Harry later joined the interview and confirmed the upsetting story. "That conversation, I am never going to share," he said. "At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked." The Duke refused to name the family member behind the comments, but he added, "It was right at the beginning. 'What will the kids look like?'"

Yet, on the contrary, Lady Colin Campbell claimed that Princess Anne spoke to Harry with the "genuine concern of a loving aunt" and that her questions were about "allowing somebody of [Meghan's] ilk, character wise, into the family" and how it would affect "any child born of the union."

Daily Mail reported that Buckingham Palace declined comment on Campbell's claims. Harry and Meghan's accusation of racism against an unnamed royal was among the most troubling and damaging moments of Oprah with Meghan and Harry, which aired earlier this month.

Following the interview, the Palace also addressed the racism claims with a statement that said: "The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately."
