Duchess Kate recently sat in on a lesson with schoolchildren as they learned about the science of human development! As People shares, the Duchess of Cambridge dropped in on a year 8 class at Nower Hill High School on Wednesday, where she took the time to engage with the students.

Duchess Kate "an absolute natural," says headteacher

Duchess Kate's visit was something students and headteacher Louise Voden were made aware of just minutes before class. Voden expressed her surprise, and told People that Kate made students "feel at ease" in her presence. She explained that the royal "picked up on the signs" that some members of the class were a little on edge, and spoke to them in a way that made them feel valued.

Voden also called the Duchess of Cambridge "an absolute natural," sharing that she "was really interested in what they had to say" during the lesson. And when it comes to Kate's overall persona in the classroom, Voden had nothing but good things to say about how she presented herself! The educator shared that Kate was "just extremely down to earth," rather than being "overly formal" in the school setting.

Duchess Kate also reflected on how much she enjoyed the experience! "I completely found it interesting," the royal remarked. She said she was "super impressed" by the lesson, commenting on how learning about the way young minds are developed "is a real passion of mine." Earlier this year, Kate announced plans for a childhood development center and even visited a preschool with First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, who she also penned an op-ed with on the topic.
